The Baseball Almanac states that several Major league pitchers have accomplished the feat of striking out 4 batters in a single inning.  No Major League pitcher has ever struck out 5 in an inning, at least not officially.  The Houston Astros' Joe Niekro did it in a 1976 exhibition game against the Minnesota Twins in the Louisiana Superdome.  On July 1, 2011 Yankees minor leaguer Mark Montgomery struck out 5 in one inning in "A" ball.  How about 6 in a single inning?  It happened right here in Section V.  Senior Michael Murray from Mt. Morris struck out 6 batters in one inning on 3/28/2012.
